Job description

We are seeking a skilled OpenShift Engineer with a focus on automation to join our dynamic team. As an OpenShift Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining OpenShift environments to support scalable, highly- available cloud applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance operational processes, drive infrastructure as code (IaC) practices, and integrate automation into container orchestration systems. This role requires a deep understanding of OpenShift, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, along with expertise in automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and application deployment.

Your responsibilities

  1. OpenShift Platform Engineering: Architect, deploy, and maintain OpenShift clusters across multiple environments (on-premise, cloud, hybrid) to ensure availability, scalability, and security.
  2. Automation Development: Design and implement automation solutions using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar to manage infrastructure as code and automate repetitive operational tasks.
  3. CI/CD Pipeline Integration: Develop, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and delivery of containerized applications on OpenShift.
  4. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Implement monitoring and logging systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) for proactive health checks and performance tuning. Troubleshoot issues related to OpenShift, Kubernetes, and associated infrastructure.
  5. Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices in containerized environments, including role-based access control (RBAC), security policies, and auditing capabilities within OpenShift.
  6. Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to build, scale, and secure OpenShift environments. Provide guidance and training on best practices for containerization and automation.
  7. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for automation scripts, platform configurations, and operational procedures.

Our requirements

To succeed at this job, you must have:

  1. 3+ years of experience working with Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes in a production environment.
  2. Strong automation expertise using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Jenkins for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and CI/CD integration.
  3. Scripting and programming proficiency in languages such as Bash, Python, or Go.
  4. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid/multi-cloud OpenShift deployments.
  5. Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker, CRI-O, or Podman.
  6. Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) for cluster and application performance.
  7. Understanding of DevOps principles and the ability to work in agile, cross- functional teams.
  8. Experience with version control (Git, GitOps) and automation pipelines (Jenkins, Tekton).
  9. Knowledge of security principles in containerized environments, including RBAC, network policies, and vulnerability management.

It would be preferred if you have:

  1. Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or equivalent certifications.
  2. Experience with microservices architecture and container-based applications.
  3. Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices and tools.
