Job description

The Service Delivery Manager – Data & Legacy Transformation is a senior, customer-facing leadership role within NATEK’s delivery. This position focuses on operational delivery ownership, nearshore team management, and customer partnership, acting as the primary interface between the customer and NATEK in day-to-day delivery execution. The role is responsible for ensuring stable, scalable, and predictable delivery within a complex enterprise environment undergoing gradual modernisation and data transformation. It requires a strong combination of delivery leadership, organisational development, stakeholder management, and commercial awareness.

The Service Delivery Manager plays a key role in building and scaling delivery structures, ensuring alignment between customer expectations, delivery capabilities, and long-term account growth.

Your responsibilities

Delivery & Operational Leadership

• Take ownership of end-to-end service delivery across the assigned customer account

• Coordinate daily operations across multiple teams, delivery streams, and dependencies

• Ensure predictable delivery execution, including release coordination and operational stability

• Define, implement, and continuously improve delivery processes, governance models, and standards

• Monitor delivery KPIs, SLAs, risks, dependencies, escalations, and overall service quality

• Drive resource planning, staffing, onboarding, and capacity management

• Ensure long-term delivery continuity, stability, and scalability of the organization

Customer & Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary operational point of contact for customer leadership and IT stakeholders

• Build and maintain trusted relationships across business and technical domains

• Translate technical and operational topics into clear, business-oriented communication

• Support decision-making through structured reporting, prioritization, and transparency

• Manage customer expectations in complex and legacy-driven environments

• Serve as an escalation and coordination point for delivery and operational topics

Team & Organizational Development

• Build and lead high-performing nearshore delivery teams (Data Engineers, Developers, Analysts)

• Establish a strong ownership culture and delivery accountability within teams

• Define and optimize team structures aligned with delivery demand and customer priorities

• Support mentoring, performance management, and capability development

• Collaborate with recruitment and management teams to scale delivery capabilities

• Balance delivery flexibility with long-term team stability and retention

Technology & Transformation Coordination

• Coordinate delivery activities across key transformation streams, including:

  1. Data platform modernization (DWH, Data Lake, Lakehouse)
  2. ETL and enterprise data integration
  3. Legacy system transformation and modernization
  4. Enterprise applications and operational systems

• Collaborate with architects and technical experts to ensure delivery feasibility

• Support modernization initiatives while balancing legacy constraints and operational realities

• Ensure alignment between delivery execution, architecture direction, and customer expectations

Sales & Pre-Sales Support

• Support Sales and Account Management teams in growing and developing the customer account

• Participate in customer meetings, workshops, and discussions as a delivery expert

• Contribute to shaping service offerings and delivery models aligned with customer needs

• Support preparation of delivery scope, Statements of Work, and operating models

• Identify opportunities for service expansion, optimization, and long-term growth

Estimation & Commercial Alignment

• Prepare effort estimations, delivery plans, and resource models for new initiatives

• Support cost modeling and commercial estimation for proposals

• Validate delivery feasibility, team structures, and operational assumptions

• Participate in pricing discussions and defend delivery assumptions

• Balance delivery quality, customer expectations, and commercial viability

• Provide realistic forecasting of capacity, scalability, and delivery risks

Our requirements

To succeed at this job, you must have:

• Fluent German and English (spoken and written)

• 8+ years of experience in IT delivery, service management, or operational leadership

• Proven experience managing enterprise-level delivery teams and customer operations

• Strong track record in:

  1. Team leadership and people management
  2. Capacity planning and staffing
  3. Delivery governance (KPIs, SLAs, reporting)
  4. Stakeholder management and customer communication

• Experience working in complex enterprise or legacy environments

• Experience building and managing nearshore or distributed delivery teams

• Strong ownership mindset with ability to manage multiple priorities and dependencies

• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and executive stakeholders

• Experience supporting pre-sales activities and customer proposals

• Experience in estimations, resource planning, and delivery modeling

• Understanding of IT delivery financials, cost structures, and operational budgeting

• Experience participating in RFI/RFP processes and customer presentations

• Commercial awareness and ability to balance delivery quality with financial performance

It would be preferred if you have:

• Experience in financial services (banking / insurance)

• Experience with data platforms, ETL ecosystems, or Databricks environments

• Familiarity with legacy systems and modernization initiatives

• Experience with enterprise integrations and release management

• Exposure to CRM ecosystems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics)

• Understanding of data governance and enterprise data management practices
