Job description
The role focuses on owning and continuously improving the performance, scalability, and stability of a global enterprise web platform used by thousands of concurrent users worldwide. The person will work closely with development, infrastructure, database, and platform teams to ensure predictable system behavior under load, prevent performance regressions, and support long-term scalability. This is a highly cross-functional role combining performance engineering, system diagnostics, observability, and architecture optimization. Engineer will establish performance standards, implement automated testing and monitoring, and provide actionable recommendations to improve platform performance across releases.
The role is initially planned as a fixedterm assignment for 3 months, with the possibility of extension depending on business needs and project continuation.

Your responsibilities
• Defining and owning performance KPIs, SLAs, and SLOs
• Designing and maintaining:
o Load tests
o Stress tests
o Endurance / soak tests
• Modeling realistic business and user workflows for performance validation
• Analyzing and optimizing:
o Application performance
o JVM, memory, and garbage collection
o Database queries and execution plans
o Caching strategies
o Network and storage performance
• Building and maintaining performance engineering toolchains
• Integrating performance testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Establishing observability using:
o Prometheus
o Grafana
o OpenTelemetry
o Sentry
• Performing root cause analysis of:
o Latency issues
o Memory leaks
o Throughput degradation
o Stability problems
• Supporting performance-related production incidents
• Collaborating with development and architecture teams on performance improvements
• Providing recommendations, best practices, and performance guidance across the organization
Our requirements
To succeed at this job, you must have:
• 7+ years of experience in Performance Engineering
• Strong experience with enterprise applications running on-premise and in cloud environments
• Deep understanding of:
o Web application performance
o REST/API performance testing
o Linux diagnostics
o System scalability
• Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as:
o k6
o Gatling
o JMeter
o Locust
• Experience with observability and monitoring solutions:
o Prometheus
o Grafana
o OpenTelemetry
o Sentry
• Experience analyzing JVM performance, memory management, and application bottlenecks
• Understanding of CI/CD integration and automated performance validation
• Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, infrastructure, and business stakeholders
