Job description
We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to take ownership of the reliability, performance, and delivery of the infrastructure supporting one of our clients. In this role, you will work across engineering, operations, and quality assurance to improve system stability, automate repetitive tasks, and streamline the journey from code commit to production. Your focus will be on making systems more resilient, deployments more predictable, and operational processes more efficient.
#LI-Remote
#LI-PP1
Your responsibilities
• Manage and evolve infrastructure: Design, operate, and scale cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on availability, performance, resilience, and cost optimization.
• Establish reliability metrics: Define and monitor Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and error budgets to measure system health, performance, and capacity.
• Drive automation: Reduce operational overhead by automating repetitive tasks, implementing infrastructure as code, and developing self-healing systems that minimize manual intervention.
• Improve CI/CD workflows: Build and optimize continuous integration and delivery pipelines to enable faster feedback, safer releases, and more frequent deployments.
• Promote shared ownership: Work closely with software engineers and QA teams to integrate reliability and quality into development, testing, and deployment processes.
• Leverage AI and AIOps: Introduce intelligent operational solutions for anomaly detection, alert optimization, automated remediation, and improved monitoring and reporting.
• Lead incident management: Coordinate incident response, facilitate blameless post-incident reviews, and translate lessons learned into long-term reliability improvements.
• Provide technical leadership: Establish engineering standards and operational
best practices, mentor team members, and influence reliability initiatives across
teams.
Our requirements
To succeed at this job, you must have:
• At least 5 years of professional experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or a similar role, with demonstrated responsibility for production systems throughout their lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and toil reduction.
• Practical experience designing, maintaining, and improving CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
• Hands-on experience with cloud providers such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Microsoft Azure, as well as container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python, Go, or Bash, for automation and tooling.
• Strong knowledge of observability practices, including metrics, centralized logging, distributed tracing, and alerting, using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, or OpenTelemetry.
• Practical experience applying AI or AIOps solutions to operational workflows, including anomaly detection, intelligent alerting, noise reduction, automated remediation, or operational reporting.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with development and QA teams to improve software quality and production reliability.
• Proven technical leadership skills, including mentoring engineers, leading cross
functional initiatives, and driving the adoption of engineering best practices.
It would be preferred if you have:
• Experience deploying and operating workloads on Google Cloud Run.
• Experience integrating AIOps capabilities into an established monitoring and observability environment.
• Knowledge of performance engineering, load testing, and capacity planning.
• Familiarity with security, privacy, and compliance frameworks and standards, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
