Network Automation Engineer

Job description

Network Automation Engineer is responsible for automation process improvements for existing processes and provides new solutions to replace manual approach with a goal of deployment time and cost reduction for a project run by the Network Services Delivery Center NSDC.
The whole task covers following areas:
•Support for TPMs in decision process and discussion with Team about automation area coverage
•Automation process tool/technologies proposal and initiatives
•Support in covering automation area
•Active tools development, maintenance of existing tools

Your responsibilities

Main areas of responsibility
•Project overview in terms of possible automation in the initial stage of the project
•Describing the automation project needs
•Integration of existing automation tools into new automation process if reasonable
•Evaluation of automation requests to avoid unnecessary work
•Acceptance of specifications for new tool or new features for existing ones
•Proposal of input data format when needed
•Use of standardized tools/libraries
•Acceptance of changes done to the scripts
•Close cooperation with other teams in case any script issue.
•Incorporates new technologies/platforms and proactive encouraging to use them
•Verification of proposed tests in terms of DWDM technologies
•Responsible for improvement initiatives, issues handling, technical knowledge sharing
•Liaise with product units on issues found in automation tools
•Attend important projects technical activates
•Produce customer project related technical documentation and presentations if needed
•Creation of new tools/libraries and standardize them
•Create documentation of automation tools

Our requirements

•2-5 years of relevant telecom experience in core domain (DWDM, IP/MPLS)
•Python (or any other language) working experience, able to write scripts to cover automation area
•Familiarity with VBA
•Database (DB) working experience, able to build and use DB.
•Ability to translate algorithms into code
•Working experience as full stack developer
•Understanding DevOps approach and tools (NetConf/RESTconf/API)
•Hands-on with GIT repositories
•Familiarity with self-testing code approach
•Familiarity with virtualization technology
•Familiarity with DWDM or IP/MPLS technology
•SDN (Software Defined Network) in Service Provider environment working experience will be a plus
