Manufacturing Digital Twin Engineer (f/m)

Job description

The role focuses on building and developing Digital Twin simulation models for manufacturing and logistics processes within production plants. The person will work closely with plant experts, process teams, and simulation partners to analyze material flows, production constraints, and optimization opportunities using simulation tools such as FlexSim. This is a highly cross-functional role combining manufacturing/process understanding, analytical thinking, and communication with both technical and business stakeholders. The project is currently in a pilot phase with plans for further rollout across multiple factories if successful.

Your responsibilities

• Building and develop simulation models

• Understanding and analyzing production processes

• Collecting and structuring information from stakeholders

• Defining:

o required data

o data quality requirements

o simulation scope

o project priorities

• Working closely with:

o process experts

o plant teams

o simulation software partner

o internal stakeholders

• Running simulation scenarios and evaluating outcomes

• Identifying optimization opportunities

• Supporting decision-making using simulation outputs

Our requirements

To succeed at this job, you must have:

• Strong understanding of manufacturing and production processes

• Experience in production environments

• Ability to communicate with both engineers and business stakeholders

• Capability to translate business/process requirements into simulation requirements

• Structured and analytical way of working

• Ability to ask the right questions and gather information from stakeholders

• Understanding of material flow and process interactions

• Good communication and coordination skills


Technical expectations

• Experience with simulation models

• Knowledge of FlexSim – at least 4 years of experience

• Ability to understand simulation logic and assumptions

• Understanding how production systems and processes interact

• Capability to work with data and validate inputs for simulations
