• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide application and infrastructure monitoring solutions to ensure system availability, performance, and operational reliability across production and non-production environments.

• Lead the architecture, deployment, integration, and lifecycle management of monitoring platforms, collaborating with infrastructure, engineering, and third party vendors to deliver scalable and resilient solutions.

• Analyze application and infrastructure incidents, identify trends and root causes, implement proactive monitoring, alerting, logging, and self-healing capabilities, and drive problem resolution using ITIL best practices.

• Develop and maintain automation solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Ansible, and Python to streamline provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and operational processes while improving efficiency and reducing manual effort.

• Ensure platform security, compliance, and operational excellence by managing system updates, upgrades, security remediation activities, technical documentation, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, influence architecture and technology decisions, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver innovative, high-quality monitoring and observability capabilities that support business objectives.

• Strong expertise in administering and optimizing MySQL, MariaDB, and/or Microsoft SQL Server databases.

• Proven experience designing and implementing highly available, scalable, and resilient database architectures aligned with industry best practices.

• Hands-on experience with MariaDB MaxScale or similar database proxy/load balancing technologies.

• In-depth knowledge of database security, hardening, access controls, auditing, logging, backup, and disaster recovery strategies, including experience with enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Cohesity).

• Experience automating database administration tasks and supporting infrastructure using scripting and modern operational practices.

• Strong understanding of database performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis in mission-critical environments.

• Experience designing and implementing enterprise software, database, or platform solutions using modern engineering principles and architecture best practices.
