Job description
We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our eCommerce infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, operating, and optimizing our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment, ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of our eCommerce systems. You will work closely with development, DevOps, and operations teams to maintain a robust and efficient cloud ecosystem.

Your responsibilities
• Cloud Infrastructure Management
o Operation and optimization of the Google Cloud Platform for eCommerce operations.
o Management of Managed Kubernetes Clusters.
o Ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency of cloud systems.
• Integration and Operation of Kafka
o Implementation and management of Kafka as a central messaging hub.
o Ensuring performance and reliability of Kafka configurations.
o Collaboration with development teams to optimize Kafka usage.
• Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
o Active support of development teams in implementing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
o Ensuring fast and automated deployment processes.
• Monitoring and Alerting
o Implementation and maintenance of monitoring and alerting systems to oversee system health and performance.
o Collaboration with teams to establish best practices in monitoring and issue management.
o Proactive identification and resolution of system issues through effective alerting mechanisms.
• On-Call Duty and Incident Response
o Performing regular, rotating on-call duties within the team alongside four colleagues.
o Quick and effective response to critical system failures and coordinated incident response.
o Documentation and analysis of incidents to continuously improve system stability.
Our requirements
To succeed at this job, you must have:
• Extensive experience with the Google Cloud Platform, particularly with Kubernetes and Kafka.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD as a CI/CD tool.
• Knowledge of system monitoring and alerting, preferably with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
• Ability to efficiently work in a rotating on-call schedule and remain calm under pressure.
